Take the Komuter

If you are lucky, or that you are well planned when travelling via Komuter from Kajang to KL Sentral, you can hitch a ride on these KTM trains from Singapore. One of the stops these train took is the Kajang Komuter/KTM Station. Since most of the people have gotten off the stops prior to this stations, most of the seats are now free and KTM encourages people who go directly to KL Sentral to take this train so that they won't have to overcrowd the regular Komuter trains. Its quite nice actually, you can either enjoy the view, since they take slightly different route from regular Komuter trains or you can just catch up on sleep since the ride takes about 30 minutes.

Impromptu Trip

It was another lazy Friday where everyone is waiting for the weekend to come, including myself. I was chatting with a friend as usual, when he suddenly popped the idea. Let's go to Melaka, like right now. I was like? What? I haven't packed yet. He said to just get up and leave now. It was crazy, it was impromptu, it was unplanned, it was perfect :D. So I went to Melaka with literally the clothes on my back.

 I actually bought all that I needed in Melaka, so it was not so bad. We did the normal stuff such as jalan2 at Dataran Pahlawan, which is actually a nice shopping mall

 Of course a photo at this huge red building that I totally forgotten what it was :p but I remember taking a picture here the last time I came here.

 This was something that I haven't been in a while, a museum !! We visited a replica of the Malacca Palace where they house a museum in it.

 It was nice to take look back to our history and get mesmerized by it. I don't like memorizing the dates but the stories are intriguing

 Remember the movie. Night at the Museum. well Malacca Palace has its own Night at the Museum by conducting sleep overs in the museum. How interesting..

 My mother's family is from Melaka, even though they speak Negeri Sembilan, I guess it has to do with living on the border of Negeri Sembilan and Melaka. My friends were amazed with the architecture, for me, it looks like any other house on my kampung. I do love these style of windows

 We went to the incredibly delicious Cendol place at Jonker street called Jonker88. It was DAMN FREAKIN GOOD CENDOL.

 I loved the interior, it has a lot of character.

 It has a lot of photos and memoirs from the past.

 Did I mentioned the cendol was damn good. Pure and thick coconut milk and gula melaka, with soft smooth cendols. It was to DIE for.

 We side tracked into this place called Tanjung Tuan,  I am  not sure what tanjung is, I think it could be Cape?? It has a lighthouse located on top of the hill where people can walk up the steep hill to it

 You could go jungle trekking, but HELL NO!!!... I don't want to do it. So we just took the paved road to the top.

Other than the lighthouse, Tanjung Tuan was said to be a great place to be bird watching since migratory birds come here to rest before continuing on their journey.

Overall, I loved the trip, despite it being unplanned and in a rush. It was all about freedom and I have no one to yell at me when we get lost or call me stupid because I could not read the map as fast as they drive. It was pure joy really. I think I would love to do this kind of trip again, especially after I get a job. Nothing like a mini vacation in our own Malaysia. You would be surprised at what you might find in your own backyard..

Scenes

Most days, I feel like I am only half awake, half aware, and half asleep. I feel like zombie or at least like I haven't fully woken up.

Lots of flowers at the Putrajaya floral festival. I thought my mother would go on a shopping spree, but she ended up buying only fungicide for her Orchids.

I did something crazy which is to watch football at Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square). It was fun and crazy. No way in hell, I would watch at home alone.

*Need more updates, regardless of how EMO it is... at least people who do actually accidentally click here, have something to bitch about....

Bandung Shopping

It was our first family trip overseas together, and we decided to go to Bandung, Indonesia. The capital of West Java Province in Indonesia. With more than 7 million people and still growing, this moderate temperature city (23 Celsius) is a shopping and food heaven for locals and international tourist.

There are lot of clothing outlets here, relatively medium size clothing outlets selling, their own T-Shirt designs, or factory outlets selling last seasons, leftover stocks or rejected items.

Each store has there own style, but mostly they carry the same brands. Almost all the time, they sell it at the same price

That is why, whenever you find an item you like, might as well take it now. Since you may or you may not find it again.

They have really great service. The staff are eager to serve you without smothering you or giving you attitude.

Its nice, if you have a driver (supir) to drive you to all the shopping outlet for you to shop till you drop.

This is Pasar Baru (in Braga?? I forgot.. hehehe, just ask the driver and he knows), view from the top floor. This place reminds me of Pasar Payang in Terengganu.

You can get a lot of textiles here. Ladies would loved the abundance of options here. My mother loved this place

A feast for the eyes. Again the sales people are rarely pushy, although there were many people trying to sell me something off their carts (I had 10 drink seller, 5 key chain seller, and 2 songkok seller approached me)

In Bandung

I can't believe I am in Bandung now. In another country, that is so near, but far, similar but different. Here are the things I observed.

Bandung people or at least the workers are very good looking. I feel like watching a sinetron sometimes.

The toilets are relatively clean with no stench of urine.

People like to press their horn almost all the time. I think to remind the others that they are there. Maybe I should learn to horn more.

Lots of Malaysian here too.

There are coffee and tea carbonated drinks!

Teh Botol, is basically Jasmine tea.

Lots of MPV here, and there are also a lot of Honda Jazz too

I’m going to the Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair

Gatsby makes really cool stuff for guys such as hair color, hair styling products, and skin care products. Now they want to reach the public by organizing a Street Fair or a kind of carnival just like those Fun Fair we go to as kids or still go now.

Yup air bag sumo!!

What is it?

This is airbag sumo, you get to wear these fat suits filled with air bags so that you can push, shove and jump your opponent to victory with out getting hurt.. that much! Sounds like fun!!! However it does look like hard work and that airbag suits seemed very insulating. One can get really sweaty and smelly in there.

Wak? Bi? Awak?

I went to visit my uncle's house during raya. I saw this cage and automatically, I meowed at it, thinking there would be a cat, to my surprise it was a large lizard (an iguana I was told) that was chilling in there. So much for meowing at it. :p

A Get Away

I had a short trip to Pahang last Sunday, via public transportation. Its been a while since I took the public transportation after I started to know my way around while driving. I took the Komuter from Serdang to KL Sentral

Then took a monorail from KL sentral to Titiwangsa, only after I arrived, I felt foolish, since the STAR LRT also goes to Tittwangsa -_-"

I took a bus to Raub, where my friend will pick me up. Its been years since I rode a bus, the last time I took the bus was during my diploma years for my trip to and from Arau, Perlis

Ahh.. the hills are alive with fresh air and chirping of birds

We took the motorcycle up the hill. I love this Yamaha LC, its has really good pickup.

Yeah, I was at Frasier Hills, I don't even remember if I ever been here before.

Theoretically, I was supposed to go back by bus, but we took a wrong turn, and went into Batang Kali.. Ouch.. Out from Pahang and into Selangor. No wonder the car registration plate was different :p.

Now the Komuter operates from Tanjung Malim to Rawang. The reason why is that they used a the diesel train instead of the electric train, so you need to change trains at Rawang. A ticket from Batang Kali to Serdang is only RM 5.80.

The trip was fun and worth it. I had great time just trying something new and adventurous, but I did get blisters from sitting on a motorcycle for a long time, something that I haven't done for a long time

Food and Friends

Eating is good, going out with friends is good too, but combining them two together is the best.

Seafood dinner at Riverview restaurant at Sg Buloh. Heavenly.

Grilled lamb by my dad. These came all the way from Sudan. Finger licking good.

Baked chocolate chip almond bar.

Slightly different from the normal way of baking the cookie. This make it every cake like.

Although regulars ones are nice and crispy

Tepayaki beef, chicken and shrimps with mushrooms at the Legend Hotel.

Hmm Mix Grill at William. Yum, with pandan chicken, sausages, chicken scramble and 2 types of salami with a side of mashed potatoes.

Baked Lasangnia, suprising sour. Like really sour as is someone trying to kill me with vinegar, but the meatballs saved the day, as always.

Ricosta with seafood. I am not sure if I spelled that right, it has servings of baked salmon, shrimps, clams and bamboo clams. Yum!

A Japanese buffet dinner at the Legend Hotel. Yum! all you can eat raw seafood ;)

Don't fret, they also many other types of cooked food.

Food should always be enjoyed with people you love to be around :)
