A skinfull
I try to give out advice, but usually its a hit and miss. Skin is so hard to predict. What works for me will not work for you, what is claimed to be great, can just be lack luster on mine. One must not forget, that one must be extra diligent when dealing with problematic skin.
For those who says just splashing water on their face is the only thing they do, Dr Leslie Baumann says you probably have resistant skin that is perfect and seem to be able to resist any harm to it. Damn you...
It just hits my button when some holier than thou claims that wuduk is the best way to treat problematic skin. I am sorry, but god does not want a lazy ass bum, you have to actually do something to treat it and he might grant you your prayers. Enough of my ramblings, these are what the 3 problems that people have that I can related to
Problems:
Person A is looking for a sunblock that does not add to the oiliness or extra acne, but must be able to protect him from both UVA and UVB rays.
Person B is looking for something to treat her pigmentation. Typical for someone after menopause or reaching 50.
Person C is now looking for a different cleanser that does not contain triclosan since FDA rulling on the status of triclosan only will be shown winter of 2012.
All of this problems obsess me, because I do have all of the problems in the above. The right and gentle sunblock that does not sting nor gives me acne, a way to treat pigmentation on the side of my face and maybe a cleanser, although I still like my triclosan cleanser very much.
Solutions:
These are my solutions based on what I read and understand although I only choose few references to support my claims and everyone who does research knows that this is not enough.
For Person A, I would recommend him Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock because it claims to not add excess oil to a person with oily skin, Banana Boat Ultra FACES because it was claim to be made for the facial area and that it also does add more oil to the skin and Ocean Potion Clear Zinc Oxide, because physical sunblock such as Zinc Oxide is better for acne prone skin because it does not irritate it.
For Person B, I would recommend BHA along with topical retinoid and a pigmentation cream. My choice would be Paula's Choice 1% BHA lotion, Retin-A 0.05% and a hydroquinone cream. If hydroquinone is not your thing then try Dermatoligica Extreme C pigmentation cream or Olay White Radiance Spot Corrector, White Essence or Serum.
For Person C, since she already uses Paula's Choice Clear cleanser, she should perhaps switch to Skin Balancing Cleanser, since its also light and foamy but without the triclosan that she is worried about.
Sigh, its just my prescription to them, but I want to take my advice before I give them this. The knowledge on skin care is a diverse as the research I did on toxoplasmosis. It gives me a headache and keeps me up all night. Not good at all for the skin. Oh well, I can only give them my point of view for the to considered it.

Medicine You Should Always Have
A basic pain killer and one of the most effective medicine for fever. It comes in a tablet form, caplet form (Actifast) or soluble form (Soluble..duuh...). I know everyone read an email or a blog about how Panadol destroys the liver, well people, if you abuse it, you will. This is because these people take more than the recommended dose and they took it for a long period of time. I call these people ignorant for not reading the label, see a pharmacist or see a doctor. So feel free to take them as long you don't exceed 4000mg a day (8 tablets) or consume them everyday for more than a week. If you do, you are an idiot.
*Medicine goes through the liver before its distributed throughout the body, which is why they usually recommend most medicine to be taken after a meal.
Antihistamine tablets
If you are like me who are prone to watery nose or watery eyes, you are definitely allergic to something because clear mucus is a sign of allergies and it could developed into a cold or a flu. You can buy antihistamines from the pharmacies. There are soo many different kinds of anti histamines you can choose from, some is naturally sedative (will knock you out) or some can keep you up at night. I have chlorpheniramine (Piriton) which is mildy sedative but usually knocks me out and loratadine (Claritin) during the day because it does not make me drowsy. I found Cetrizine in the fridge, my moms medicine and its an anti histamine too but in theory its not sedative but for me, it knocks me out so fast that I can't take it. If you really need to sleep, tryfinding Diphenydramine (Benadryl) which is usually found in some cough and flu syrup. This is highly sedative and is great if you have trouble sleeping during a cold/flu.
I always have these all the time in my possession because its such a common ailment to have. However I have some other extra things I keep to self medicated
Antifungus cream - For that itch that seemed never to end at places where there is lots of sweat and friction.
Methyl Salicylate - Usually those with camphor/menthol or peppermint oil. Great during nausea and headaches or muscle pains.

IMS Irritable Male Syndrome
Yeah, that pretty much sums up how I felt for few months now
For most people, its the typical guy or typical hot headed male.
However some studies shown its the effect of the sudden decrease level of testosterone in males which causes these symptoms.
There is this guy named Dr Jed Diamond, who wrote the book "The Irritable Male Syndrome". He claims he has done the study in more than 10,000 men and proof that this is a real syndrome in men.
One might find in similar to PMS (pre menstrual syndrome) which occur in women before they have their period. Menopause happens to women after they ran out of ovum supplies and stopped menstruating. Which means, it happens every month or when they reach the age 50
IMS however, can happen everyday. Male produce sperms for the rest of their lives, even if they are impotent, but the testosterone level does decrease with old age. This kinda shows how some males are so temperamental and why old man are cranky
I watched a show on 3R about PMS and IMS. They claim men should not give women a hard time since women have PMS, but men have IMS. All I understood from the show is that if I am aggressive, withdrawn, angry and so on, you can't blame it on me, but blame it on my sudden decrease in testosterone level? Nice job ladies of 3R, and you writers and producers to give that understanding to me. Thank god your show does not cater to the general male population. Just freaks like me who like to watch it.
This is an excerpt of an interview with Dr Jen
Again, there is the assumption that women are hormonal but men are moved more by logic. But the truth is men are as hormonally driven as women. In fact, men have a number of hormonal cycles:
1) Men's testosterone, for instance, varies and goes up and down four or five times an hour.
2) There are daily cycles with testosterone being higher in the morning and lower at night.
3) Men have a monthly hormonal cycle that is unique to each man, but men can actually track their moods and recognize they are related to hormonal changes through the month.
4) We know that there are seasonal cycles with testosterone higher in November and lower in April.
5) We know about hormonal cycles with males during adolescence, but also the years between 40 and 55 have what we call male menopause or andropause.
6) Finally, we know there are hormonal changes in men going through IMS, related to stress in a man's life.
You can read more in Wiki, Medicine Net, the doctors own website selling his book (I wonder if this is a scam really than the truth) and at enotlone
They say this is genetic, I find my dad with explosive anger burst all week. Especially if he is under stress. I guess I inherited it. It kinda sucks, that I have to be wrong, when I want to be right (a sign of IMS), that I don't know whats going on (IMS again), and that people don't get it (I should the poster boy of IMS)
I wonder though, if they say this is about decrease of testosterone level, what if I took testosterone? No not the ones the body builder takes, well actually is the same, usually the body builder takes likes 50 times the recommended dose, while for hormonal therapy, its much-much lower in the dosage. A friend of my took it because he wants to grow more facial hair. Well, he was hairier, but not at face but at the arms, legs and so on. Also his sex drive was a lot higher. This is a problem for those who are single, not married, believe masturbation will cause you to go blind and believe in sex after marriage.
This makes me stressed out just thinking about it. I think spikes in the testosterone level affected my skin, I get pimples more often than I should, and I am very religious with washing my face with a cleanser.
Basically the article says I should face my problems head on. There is problem though, since it involves people, these people find themselves doing nothing wrong, which makes me irritated even more. This shows that I have to change or I have to look at the situation differently. I don't want to (IMS, IMS)
Erghh.. this allergy is making things worse, and the meds that I got before, is not kicking in at ALL..
So now you know why most of my entry is very emo... :D

Breast Cancer
Collections of cells that are growing abnormally or without control are called tumors. Tumors that do not have the ability to spread throughout the body may be referred to as “benign” and are not thought of as cancerous. Tumors that have the ability to grow into other tissues or spread to distant parts of the body are referred to as “malignant.” Malignant tumors within the breast are called “breast cancer”. Theoretically, any of the types of tissue in the breast can form a cancer, cancer cells are most likely to develop from either the ducts or the glands. These tumors may be referred to as “invasive ductal carcinoma” (cancer cells developing from ducts), or “invasive lobular carcinoma” (cancer cells developing from lobes).
Sometimes, precancerous cells may be found within breast tissue, and are referred to as ductal carcinoma in-situ (DCIS) or lobular carcinoma in-situ (LCIS). DCIS and LCIS are diseases in which cancerous cells are present within breast tissue, but are not able to spread or invade other tissues. DCIS represents about 20% of all breast cancers. Because DCIS cells may become capable of invading breast tissue, treatment for DCIS is usually recommended. In contrast, treatment is usually not needed for LCIS.

Fetching..

I been looking back at past pictures of myself. I lost about 6 kg since my trip to Terengganu with my mistaken golden mahogany dark blonde hair ( it was red hair basically). My face was so full back then compared to now. My pants are getting baggier by the moment. I am on a roll and happy with the result of my diet, exercise, depressed and getting sick plan. However all of it might change and I might gain back all the weight and more... because of him......

The nurse/staff/phelobotomist was there to take my blood. However when never I need to get my blood checked or when I donated blood, something would happened.

After finished giving them blood, I got this toteback as a souvenir. Its practical since I can shove my books in their if my laptop bag is too full.

Greasy

My skin is so oily, I just can't help it to rub Ms Chu, my dwarf hamster on my skin to absorb some excess oil while keeping her fur soft and oily :p

I switched my cleasers and moisturizer from whitening and protecting to oil control. Right now I rather be dark and have uneven skin tone that being oily.

I even tried this clay mask for oily skin to help with my condition. However I have not been using it frequently enough for it to show an effect on my skin.
Skin changes through out our lives mine changed from dry to oil in one semester. I think because I stay in a dry air cond room, my skin oil production went overboard.. hence the greasy face. Perhaps I need a change in moistuirizers too, because the current oil control moisturizer is a gel creme, meaning the creme part still greased up my face... Need to find other gel alternatives other than gamat gel..

Sick again
Again.. I thought I felt something bad is coming up, when I started coughing again. and it came through in the form of a very stuffy nose and infective mucus. Sigh... I guess my dad who just got back from Sudan also contributed to this latest sickness. That old timer smokes like two a packs a day. The house reeks of cigarette smoke. I want out of the house, I want fresh air......
Even after a clogged nicotine filled artery, damn old fool still smokes. The house smells like an ashtray..
Sure I could just say to him to stop smoking and all the ill health benefits, but that is like asking for an early grave. Whether I am 5, 25, or 55 he will always be right and his children will always be wrong..l

Now don't you just love reading the things that could kill you.
Maybe I should list down carcinogenic content in everyday cosmetic you apply, brush, and put on yourself everyday...
