I can't weive ketupat, I can't stir dodol, I can't make rendang, I can't roast lemang but I can make raya biscuits. Although chocolate chip almond is a modern cookie, I can still make semperit and pineapple tart. I am learning to make kuih Siput and kuih Gunting though. So, the Malay preparation of Hari Raya, is not lost in me. Beside, I think 80% of the Raya biscuits that are sold on the market, are repulsive. Gimme homemade biscuits, slightly disfigured, anytime over those perfect pretty Raya biscuits. This is just recollection of the moments I face in life, you may think you know me when you are reading this, but this blog is only a fragment of the many personalities that can manifest in me

What Day?
I woke up early but end up sleeping again. I felt so tired. I thought it was Friday. NOT!.. it was only Tuesday..erghh.. I really have to start to sleep earlier, but I can't. Perhaps its the late night gym session. I swear to you, I never seem to be able to get out of the house before 10pm. Thank goodness this gym closes at 12am. My body is aching from doing things its not used to do, such as moving. A gym friend of my told me this was normal, since your body is not used to it. One thing about gym that you should know before actually registering in one, is that it makes your appetite grow incredibly. Everything taste so much better after a work out. Which is why some people never loose weight at the gym *thats me, although they do firm up a bit. I guess it depends on what you really want to do with your body. I don't have that much complain, although having a pair of strong arms for myself seemed quite practical. However tonight might be an off night. I am baking some cookies for dear friend. He loves it so much, even though he never tasted it "Budddd nak cooookies" are the things he would ask me whenever there a baking post.
I wanted to use our old oven but it still leaking gas. When the repairman came and tested the oven, no gas was leaking but when I tried the day before yesterday, it started to smell gas. That huge oven, cuts the baking session in half because more cookies could be baked at the same time. I hope by changing the gas cylinder head,it would not leaked anymore.

Food and Friends
Eating is good, going out with friends is good too, but combining them two together is the best.
Seafood dinner at Riverview restaurant at Sg Buloh. Heavenly.
Grilled lamb by my dad. These came all the way from Sudan. Finger licking good.
Baked chocolate chip almond bar.
Slightly different from the normal way of baking the cookie. This make it every cake like.
Although regulars ones are nice and crispy
Tepayaki beef, chicken and shrimps with mushrooms at the Legend Hotel.
Hmm Mix Grill at William. Yum, with pandan chicken, sausages, chicken scramble and 2 types of salami with a side of mashed potatoes.

Baked Lasangnia, suprising sour. Like really sour as is someone trying to kill me with vinegar, but the meatballs saved the day, as always.

Ricosta with seafood. I am not sure if I spelled that right, it has servings of baked salmon, shrimps, clams and bamboo clams. Yum!

New Old Oven
Heloooo new old oven. Yes "new" old oven. Basically we fixed our old oven, yay \^_^/ The glass that was covering the door came off during a baking session last Raya. Only now we have managed to fix it. This is the only two pieces of appliance that still remain in use in the 12 years that we bought them all at once, the other one is our Toshiba TV. The rest of our appliances has gone ghost (washing machine, microwave, vacuum cleaner, fridge) So this oven is basically older than my youngest sister. My mom is a clean freak so the oven still looks new.
This the oven we used to bake cookies and stuff. This oven is also used a toaster oven where we toast bread or baked nuggets, burger, pizza and potato wedges.
Now I could bake more cookies at half the time since I could load more cookies in. Now it takes just 1 hour and half to finish making and baking one batch of cookies.
